Just read some of Billy Joel's lyrics off his website. Haha, one of the random things I do sometimes - reading lyrics.

To me they are just like poems with added melodies. Of course I was only refering to more mature songwriters... You can really dig out some interesting ideas/scenarios and it always amazes me how they put the words just right in place...
